Public Policy & Professional Issues Update - 2/23/08
on Friday, February 22, the Professional Association Council (PAC), a multi-disciplinary group of licensed professional associations met with the Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) to discuss billing and reimbursement options available to provisionally licensed and board-eligible master’s level graduates. Since H-codes billing options will end June 30, 2008, DMA reports that they are actively working on one solution for provisionally licensed by way of a billing mechanism called “Incident To” billing. Senate Passes Mental Health Parity! – House Action Under Way

The evening of Tuesday, September 18th, the Senate approved S. 558, the “Mental Health Parity Act of 2007,” which requires equal health insurance coverage for mental and physical illnesses when policies cover both.

Update on H.R. 1424:  Congress is running out of time to pass H.R. 1424, the “Paul Wellstone Mental Health and Addiction Equity Act of 2007,” and your help is needed to advocate for this important bill.
