Mental health counselors face many pressing issues that hold important implications for our profession and for client care and that require counselors to respond by advocating for clients and the profession. Do you consider yourself an advocate? Have you thought about it, but are unsure how or where to begin? Wherever you are with advocacy, WE CAN HELP!

Come join the Region 5 Town Hall meeting for an engaging discussion about professional and client advocacy! We will begin with a screening of a video by Ashley Perkinson, our LPCANC Lobbyist. Following the screening, we will host a moderated panel discussion focused on how counselors can engage in advocacy in a variety of ways.

Advocacy Panelists:

  1. Shana Cole, MA, LPC, LPCS, CRC; Tree of Life Counseling
  2. Linda Makinson, PhD, LPC, NCC; Spring Garden Counseling
  3. Eric Beeson, PhD, LCPC, CRC; LPCANC Professional Development Committee

Refreshments will be provided, and the event is FREE! Come join fellow counselors and learn and share ideas about how you can get involved in critical advocacy efforts through LPCANC and beyond as we gear up for LPCANC Advocacy Day in Raleigh on March 17!

This workshop is open to LPCANC members and non-members, from any region. Walk-in attendees are welcome, unless the space sells out. CE certificates will be available after the event upon request.
