Registration cut-off: Registration ends on Friday, November 6. If there are fewer than 10 participants by November 4, 2015  the workshop will not “make.” 

This is the last opportunity to take this training at current pricing. We are offering a discount for those who are already LPC-S but did NOT take this Mirror in Mirror training, to make you eligible for the Train the Trainer classes beginning in 2016. Cost:  LPCANC members $675.00; non members $1350.00 (Join LPCANC and SAVE at least $545!) Lunch will be on your own each day.

PAYMENTS: LPCANC Members may make installment payments; initial deposit of 50% is required to register. The FINAL PAYMENT will be charged to your credit card on November 4, 2015.

Limited enrollment:  16 maximum.  Because of the developmental nature of this 4-day workshop, participants must commit to all four sessions; no partial credit is given for this class. Please reserve your space in this workshop today!  It will fill up!

The workshop offers in-depth coverage of feedback delivery, supervision models, internationality, ethical and legal implications, multicultural/diversity issues, goal setting, supervision methods and techniques, assessment, contrast between group and individual supervision, self-assessment, group process, termination and thorough supervised practice of supervision skills.

Between the first session in November and the second in December, participants will prepare a 30-minute multicultural/diversity presentation and an integrative capstone paper. Participants will present their video of either an actual supervision session or with someone acting as a supervision client. (Video release required.)  These videos will be reviewed during intense individual and group workshop supervision. This assignment will be discussed thoroughly in the first session. Participants will receive feedback and consultation after completion of the workshop.

Once registration is complete, the presenter will contact participants with final workshop details via email.

Please Note: This class is an advanced practitioner's course, and requires at least 3 years of counseling experience. 

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled before October 28, a full refund of the amount paid will be issued. If cancelled after October 28 but before November 4, a full refund minus $75 administration fee will be issued, or 100% credit towards future training will be issued. Cancellations after November 4 will receive credit only for 75% of the amount paid (no refunds after November 4).

Please Note: Your GPS may take you through I85 and High Point; override your GPS. Travel I40,and you will be only about a mile and half from South University, by turning off I40 towards High Point. (Do not head towards the airport; go the other direction.)  South U is located just a short distance from Embassy/Homewood Suites on High Point Road, basically located in Greensboro.


Bio(s) of Presenters:

J. Dwaine Phifer, PhD, LPCS, CCMHC, ACS, NCC, NCSC: The co-creator of Mirror in Mirror in Mirror Supervision, Dwaine received his Bachelor's and Masters in Biology and his Masters and Doctorate was spent in agency counseling with cognate in child and family development.  He has forty-five years mental health experience, in all types of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, private practice, schools. He has also been an exam writing committee member for the National Certified Mental Health Counselor Exam, the National Certified School Counselor Exam and the National Certified Counselor Exam. He is a past Treasurer and Secretary for LPCANC. Dwaine co-authored along with Shirley Huffman: Experiential Supervision Training and Skills Building (2010).

Rodney Harris, PhD, LPCS, NCC, ACS, DCC, BCC: Rodney has numerous years of counseling, supervising and consulting experience. He has also completed the training requirements and been endorsed to teach the supervision series “Mirror-in-the-Mirror” by Dr. Shirley Huffman and Dr. Dwaine Phifer. They received the 2012 President’s Award for Outstanding Contributions in the Field of Clinical Supervision.
