Description: Participants can expect to learn about and experience an example of Bodywork as a means of de-stressing, relieving chronic pain, and calming reactivity. Stressful and hurtful events can lead to reactions of anger, withdrawal, and blame. Dr. Rauch will demonstrate ways to help clients cope with pain and resolve avoidant reaction patterns.

About the Presenter: Dr. Rauch is an LPC and a licensed massage therapist and Trager practitioner. Trager, is similar to massage but with a special emphasis on using gentle, rhythmic movements and touch aimed at facilitating deep relaxation, increased physical mobility, and promoting the mind and body's optimal experience. Her doctoral research was in Body Psychotherapy and she currently works with many local therapists as a member of the client’s support team doing the body work piece of body psychotherapy.

RSVP: Please contact Kathleen Connolly, by email or 704-331-0160 by Wednesday January 13, 2010, to ask questions or confirm attendance. Please consider bringing a non-member LPC to hear about our association! All LPCs and counseling students are welcome to join us.
