Description:
This workshop is designed to prepare qualified LPCANC

The workshop offers the curriculum and instruction
for attendees to conduct the Supervision Training
Series, which is 4 distinct workshops with a cadre
of LPCs wishing to enhance their supervision practice
and meet the criteria for various supervisory credentials,
such as the Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor
and Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). This workshop
will focus on preparing already experienced supervisors
to become workshop facilitators and train others in
the models, skills, and techniques of becoming a clinical
supervisor. This workshop will give trainers the fifteen
(15hrs – 8 in sessions; 7 “homework”
hours) additional hours needed for the LPCS when added
to 30 previously documented workshop hours.
Eligibility Requirements:
Those interested in attending must complete an application
form with documentation to verify the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years experience as a LPC or equivalent
license
- Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS)
- A graduate course OR 30 hours of education specific
to supervision, including models of clinical supervision
- Current LPCANC Professional Membership
Prior to the Workshop:
Applicants approved for the training will be required
to pay the registration fee of $450 for the workshop
and subsequent coursework. Upon successful completion
of the workshop and payment of the fee, you will receive
a certificate of completion which affords you the
opportunity to be compensated as a presenter for supervision
workshops under the auspicious of LPCANC.
During the Workshop:
Participants will be presented with the curriculum
for the Supervision Training Series of 4 workshops.
A review and demonstration of the curriculum will
occur throughout the day and logistical issues will
be discussed.
After the Workshop:
Attendees will be required to sign a contract with
LPCANC to provide the Supervision Training Series
in their communities as a LPCANC representative. The
curriculum for the workshop is copyrighted. Each training
has a $250 stipend provided to the trainers, for a
total of $1000 for all 4 sessions in the series. LPCANC
cannot guarantee adequate numbers of attendees of
the sessions you might provide, which has a minimum
of 8.
Continuing Education:
This workshop will provide a total of 15 hours of
continuing education for supervision only. This workshop
is not intended to be entry-level training of supervision.
These 15 hours can be combined with 30 previous hours
of documented training for the LPCS credential.
Description of LPCANC Supervision Workshops
You Will Provide in the Future:
Eligible applicants who complete the total 15 hour
train-the-trainer workshop will become authorized
Supervision Workshop facilitators for LPCANC. The
Supervision Training Series are four separate 8-hour
workshops to be coordinated by LPCANC and offered
in your community at times/locations arranged by you.
The Supervision Training Series is designed to be
the entry-level education required for LPCs interested
in becoming supervisors and includes: developmental
models of supervision, multicultural issues in supervision,
intensive group supervision of cases using the mirror
in the mirror technique and the participants delivering
assigned research projects. These workshops are designed
for 8-18 attendees who would be required to attend
all 4 workshops as a cohort. The use of co-facilitators
is the recommended manner to conduct these workshops
and between-session assignments are required of attendees,
including video tapes.
