Description: About Face: Treating Divorce as Trauma - Divorce is a frequent occurrance in our society and some people experience this life altering event as a trauma, and Counselors may find it useful to assess the level of trauma response. This workshop will address the issues and responses of the adult person being divorced or recently divorced. About Face gives some helpful suggestions for working with a client undergoing divorce and experiencing it as a traumatic event and incorporates some "take aways" for the Counselor to use in the therapy. This is an individual counseling protocol or may be an adjunct to family therapy.

Presenter: Dianne Taylor Dougherty, LPC also conducts training for corporations and organizations and has presented nationally and internationally on various subjects including Expressive Arts in Therapy, Clergy Sexual Abuse, Sexual Ethics in Religious Organizations, Trauma Recovery, Treating Divorce as Trauma©, Priming the Pump: Expressive Writing for Health and Well-Being©.
