Description: HYPNOTHERAPY: An introduction to Hypnosis – Hypnosis is becoming more widely used these days due to research in the field showing its many uses and benefits. There are still WAY too many misconceptions about what hypnosis is and what it is not. Please come to an informational meeting about hypnosis and learn what it is and how it works and how YOU might already be using it in your counseling practice! For those that are interested, there will also be a short group hypnosis session at the end designed for relaxation.

Presenter: Maggie Minsk is a counselor working as a contract employee in New Bern, Goldsboro, and Morehead City. She holds degrees from Graceland University and Bowie State University/UMUC Asia. Maggie received her LPC and NCC licenses within the last six months but has been a certified hypnotherapist with the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association (IMDHA) and the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) since 2006. Her Master’s thesis combined hypnotherapy with positive psychology and she has been studying to become a certified regression therapist with the International Association of Regression Research Therapy (IARRT) and The Newton Institute (TNI).

RSVP: If you plan to attend, please contact Maggie Minsk by email or 252-288-2724 by Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Please consider bringing a non-member LPC to hear about our association! All LPCs and counseling students are welcome to join us. Our regional meetings are a great way to stay connected with your professional association, network with other LPCs in your region, and earn a CEU.
