  3. The participants will be able to better understand the differences between post-traumatic stress in the family and Mild Traumatic Brain Injury and how they vary from post-combat reintegration

Lunch - Drumming for Wellness

Public health implications of our failing mental health system suggest we  revert back to some low-tech, low-cost indigenous methods of healing. Welcome the drum circle into modern day society. Although in the US, it has a reputation as a hippie circle with a bunch of people randomly drumming into all hours of the night, contemporary healing drum is being used across numerous populations and showing incredible results. Participants in this workshop will learn about the neuroscience showing an incredible agent that has helped the following areas (without medication side effects!): blood pressure, anxiety and stress; increases brain white matter and executive cognitive function; reduces pain, increases immune response; increases transcendent experiences.  Group drumming is being used to help diverse populations: veterans with PTSD, Seniors with dementia, substance use disorders, Juvenile Justice Centers, children and adults with Autism, educational settings, and even in employment settings.

Track 2 - All Day: Pornography's Prey, From Vulnerability to Addiction

Learners will be able to grasp the destruction of an individual’s self-esteem through the use of pornography to those effected by its use of others in their lives. Learners will gain a knowledge of the actual increasing statistics of pornography's use and its effects on the individual. Learners will gain an understanding of the "Addictive Brain" that is impacted and why Pornography has the highest rate of potential for internet addiction than any other use of the internet.
