Each year, LPCANC recognizes outstanding contributions to the mission of the Association through its awards program.  The awards given each year include:

1)  LPC of the Year Award:  The recipient of this award is chosen by the Awards Committee. This award goes to an LPC in NC who is a member of LPCANC, who is not on the Board, and who has demonstrated outstanding service to the association in the areas of program development, leadership, and commitment of time, energy, and personal resources.

2)  Outstanding Advocacy Award:  The recipient of this award is chosen by the Awards Committee.  This award recognizes an individual or community organization for excellence in legislative advocacy efforts.  Effective legislative efforts require the tireless energy of individuals dedicated to making a difference for the future of the counseling profession and the communities in which they serve. Award recipients must have engaged in a concerted activity aimed at achieving a specific legislative, regulatory, or organizational goal. Although actual legislative accomplishments are particularly worthy of recognition, a greater emphasis will be placed on the effective, collaborative, and productive efforts of the individual or organization.

3)  Representative of the Year Award:  The recipient of this award is chosen by the Awards Committee.  This award is given to a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives who has championed the advancement of mental health and wellness through public policy and legislative priorities.  Awards must only be given in the form of plaques or certificates.

4) Senator of the Year Award:  The recipient of this award is chosen by the Awards Committee.  This award is given to a member of the North Carolina Senate who has championed the advancement of mental health and wellness through public policy and legislative priorities.  Awards must only be given in the form of plaques or certificates.

All awards are given out at the annual conference of LPCANC.
