CCMC - Certified Clinical Military Counselor Info Page

Certified Clinical Military Counselor (CCMC) Information

The CCMC is a new credential being offered by LPCANC to  LPCANC members who are LPC, LPCS, and LPCAs in North Carolina. This is the course developed by Dr. Mark Stebnicki at ECU, which he has turned over to LPCANC, in hopes of offering an advantage to LPCs, who are sometimes overlooked by the VA, Tricare and others.

There are a few changes to the program in 2017:

  1. The in-person training is 1.5 days instead of one.
  2. The price is $200 for training, and $50 for certificate (increase $50).
  3. You must be a member of LPCANC to take the training, since this is a LPCANC member benefit.

There will be one more CCMC training in 2017 - at the Annual Conference in Winston-Salem. There will be no other trainings in 2017, so don't miss out.

Watch for more info about Conference, coming very soon!

Steps to CCMC

The total investment for you to earn your certificate is $250; this has been changed in 2017, due to the in-person training changing to a 1.5 day format.

The CCMC Certificate is a LPCANC member benefit, and your certificate will be issued after you do all five of the steps, below:

  1. Participate in a 9-hour, 1.5 days face-to-face training.
  2. Complete the approximately 3-hour online self-study training, which involves review and study of all the materials, links and manual received.
  3. Take and pass the exam, which is given on set dates. The dates of the exam will be announced at the time the training is announced.
  4. Apply for the certificate.

Course Requirements

This course involves a 9-hour face-to-face training, which is being scheduled in 2017 in Wilmington (April) and Winston-Salem (Winston-Salem), plus 3 hours of required independent study, plus a 75-question exam.

Exam: Once the candidates complete the training and independent study, there will be an exam to take before receiving your certificate. The exam will be given on May 19-20; you must take the exam during the 24-hour period it is open.

The exam consists of 75 questions and is broken into 7 parts, with 10 or 11 questions in each part. You need to submit each section within 40 minutes of starting or your information will be lost. The questions are multiple choice, and all questions are taken from material presented and material gleaned from the manual, including video clips included in the manual. Many of the questions are clinical in nature.
