 First Friday Webinars

(Presenter Info: Please read info below the line!)

Attendee Information

First Friday Webinars are offered on the First Friday of each month; if that date falls on a holiday, the Webinar will hold on the second Friday. All First Friday Webinars are one (1) hour long, qualifying for one (1) continuing education credit, under the LPCANC NBCC-approved provider status (#5807).

These Webinars are done entirely online. You will receive an invitation with a link to join the Webinar; this will be sent to you either Thursday evening (the night before the Webinar) or early Friday morning. You must use that link to enter the Webinar. Please call or text Glenna Thurston at 919.723.7087 if you have not received your invitation by 10am on the morning of the Webinar.

The Webinars are FREE to LPCANC members; non-members will pay $10. You must log-in to register for all LPCANC events, including the Webinars; non-members will need to set up a member type before registering. Click here to either join or choose "Event Attendee" as a non-paid member type; this type only gives you registration privileges and does not offer discounts. Once they have set that up, they will log-in and register. This will allow all participants to receive their certificate online after completing the required evaluation & content quiz. Please note: You do not need to request and/or pay for your certificate; it will be sent to you upon completing the requirements.

Click here to view the calendar to find your event and register.

Each Webinar is recorded; if you cannot attend the live Webinar, you can listen to the recording and still complete the evaluation to receive your certificate for contact hours. Note: You must achieve 100% on the evaluation in order to receive your certificate; you can re-take the evaluation as many times as needed.

  • If you are a member, you have access to recordings of past Webinars any time you wish; if you did not register, you will find the Webinars under Members Only /Archived Webinars. For those who did preregister, you will receive your certificate at no charge, after successful completion of the evaluation.
  • If you are a non-member, but you preregistered (and paid), you will have access to the recording of an event you missed, as well as to the evaluation. You will receive your certificate at no additional charge after successful completion of the evaluation.

If you would like to view past Webinars, they are in the Members Only section called Archived Webinars, please click here.

If you have any questions, please contact the office at staff@lpcanc.org.

Calling All Presenters!

Presenter Information

If you are interested in presenting a First Friday Webinar, please submit your topic and your information in the form below. Once the information is received and reviewed by the Professional Development Committee Chair, you will be assigned a month to present. Presenting a First Friday Webinar is a great way for first-time presenters to "get your feet wet" as a presenter!

Presenters will be required to submit their name, credentials, bio and CV (resume), along with their topic and abstract. Please view the NBCC guidelines for topics and requirements for presenters before submitting. If you do not meet the qualifications for presenting the topic (refer to NBCC eligibility rules), you can ask someone to co-present who does meet the requirements. If you have any questions, please contact the PDC Chair.

If you are NOT the presenter, please enter your name and contact info here.

If you are submitting a proposal for the Annual Conference, only Thursday offers continuous 3-hour sessions. On Friday and Saturday, sessions are scheduled in 1.5 hour time blocks. If your session is 3-hours, parts 1 and 2 will have a 30-minute break separating them, and attendees may choose both sessions, or only one part. If you do not want your session split, request to present on Thursday only, or submit your proposal for a Regional Conference, which offers 3-hour sessions in the morning and afternoon.

Suggestion: Type your info into a word document, so you can use the "Review" feature to get your character count. If you paste your title, bio or abstract and it is too long, it will either cut off your info OR cause an error when you try to submit. Please check your character count BEFORE pasting!

Before proceeding, please review the NBCC guidelines for content areas/topics and for presenter categories. These are found in the explanation text, above this form. Copy/Paste this link: http://www.lpcanc.org/?page=ConfPresenters

Regional Meetings are held within the Regions and are set up by the Regional Rep. Regional Conferences are planned in two locations, usually held in April and are set up and planned by the LPCANC Professional Development Committee and Staff.

LPCANC has a new Speaker Directory, a public directory where members may be listed so they may be considered as a presenter at events other than LPCANC. If you would like to be listed, log in and go to your member profile, and choose 'yes' to be listed on the Speaker Directory. Be sure to answer the questions about where and how you would present, and topics.
