First Friday Webinar

The Third Eye of Supervision

Supervision is a complex activity, characterized by a multitude of interests and roles. The task of supervision focuses on the training of the counselor, leadership development, the welfare of the client, along with the protection of the profession. It also carries a tremendous amount of liability and responsibility, and can be difficult to manage.  Supervisors literally need an extra-eye in the back of our head to help manage and survive. How can we use this third-eye in supervision? The first "eye" should focus on the client. The second "eye" should focus on the supervised. And the third-"eye;" which is the most important eye, should always remain focused on the supervisor.
