Carol is a New Jersey Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of clinical experience working in the Behavioral Health Field. She has treated those struggling with a variety of issues and has experience with all age groups and diverse populations including active military and veterans. Carol has solid background of counseling both mental health and substance abuse clients. She has worked in a variety of treatment settings including: in patient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient.  Carol has Master of Arts Degree in Counselor Education and is a member of various associations like NJ Counseling Association, American Mental Health Counseling Association, NJMHAA, Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce.


Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the role of loss and trauma as a mental health impact of COVID 19
  • ID possible symptoms of loss and or PTSD associated with the pandemic.
  • Know what behaviors may be indicative of mental health concerns in both adults and children.
  • ID effective coping skills to share and implement with clients who may be struggling.
  • Define and understand Secondary PTSD as a potential factor in the mental health impact of COVID 19.
  • Learn to use appropriate interventions to provide relief and to help manage symptoms (as a caregiver) experiencing secondary trauma (PTSD).
