Did you know that LPCANC was responsible for the LPC-S concept and actually lobbied to create the LPC-Supervisor credential?  In 2009, LPCANC sought to advance the profession of counseling in North Carolina by drafting legislation and successfully lobbying for the LPC Act of 2009 legislation; thereby creating both the LPC-Associate license and the LPC-Supervisor license credentials.

While other supervisor trainings do exist, most trainings are impersonal and only on-line. By utilizing live in-person experiential training, LPCANC’s 45-hour The Mirror-in-the Mirror provides direct in-vivo training that:

  • Encourages deeper and more meaningful training by actively learning and engaging in the process of supervision;
  • Provides more learning engagement opportunities with peers and instructors
  • Opens opportunities for immediate feedback during knowledge and skill acquisition and
  • Affords better flow of group and 1:1 discussion; makes communication more direct and effective, favors expression of ideas & greater range of opinions

Training Description:

The Mirror-in-the Mirror training is 100% unique: it’s IN-PERSON, LIVE & FACE-TO-FACE clinical supervisor preparatory experiential training well worth the cost!  The workshop offers in-depth coverage of feedback delivery, supervision models, intentionality, ethical and legal implications, multicultural/diversity issues, goal setting, supervision methods and techniques, assessment, contrast between group and individual supervision, self-assessment, group process, termination and thorough supervised practice of supervision skills.

 

Training Goal:

The Mirror-in-the Mirror training is a 45-hour experiential training designed to ensure participants undergo hands-on learning through the actual process of giving and receiving clinical supervision. During this process, highly trained and experienced clinical supervisors/trainers will provide direct in-vivo feedback, guidance and support. The group will experience the actual supervision of self and others and also engage in meaningful group discussion and input.

 

Highlights:

  • You will receive training and preparation to create a digital presentation on multicultural/diversity issues in supervision.
  • You will create and present a video of either an actual supervision session with a *client or actor. *Video release required
  • 8 - minute chosen section of the participant's video will be reviewed during the experiential applied individual and group supervision.
  • Participants may opt to receive future feedback & consultation after completion of the workshop as needed.

Pre-requisites:  The Mirror-in-the Mirror training class is a moderately advanced practitioner's course. NCBLPC LPC-S requires minimum 5 yrs full-time licensed professional counseling experience with 2,500 direct client contact hours. To register for this class, you need min. 4-yrs of counseling experience. Please consult NCBLPC for more details about the LPC-S.

 

CLASS SIZE:

  • Small - Limited to 18 participants.
  • All sessions require at least 10 registrants 20 days before start date for the workshop. Guarantee your class to be a success by enrolling with a friend or colleague!

COST for LPC-S 45 hrs Training (All sessions)

  • LPCANC members -  $750.00;
  • Non members  - $1500.00 (Join LPCANC @ $130/yr. It’s a lot cheaper!)

PAYMENT Options at Registration:

  • Pay in Full (Credit or Check)
  • Installments after an initial deposit of 50% costs at registration. 
  • Credit Card FINAL PAYMENT will be charged 2 weeks before start of class.

CEUs:

  • 45 hrs Continuing Education Units awarded with completion of course requirements, including evaluations. LPCANC is a NBCC-approved provider, ACEP #5807.
  • Partial credit cannot be given for partial completion of the training.
